Medication Management

Take Charge of Your Medications
Keeping track of your medication can be a difficult task. From the basic things like recognizing their confusing names, (brand and generic), remembering the dose you are taking, and even correct storage of your medications can often be hard to stay on top of. It can become even more difficult when trying to decipher which medications can be taken when, and whether or not they can be taken together or even if food affects their actions.

Luckily, we can help provide you with tips to help to minimize the frustration.

Simple Steps to Manage Your Medications

1,Keep a Checklist.
Much like how nurses do in hospitals, you can create a handy checklist and check it off as you’ve taken your daily dose. Keep a copy on your refrigerator or near your medications for easy access, as well as to remind you to take your medication. You can use our template provided here

2. Review your medical record.
It is important to have an up to date list of all medications you take both prescription and non-prescription. You can take advantage of your pharmacist and have us prepare current list of all of your medications that you should bring to any medical appointment. It will not only have your current medications, but also ones you’ve taken in the past that has not been successful. It is a very useful tool. Call to schedule a time with your knowledgeable pharmacist at your convenience, and we will be happy to prepare this for you.

3. Get your prescriptions filled regularly, and ahead of time.
This can help you plan ahead and schedule your doctor’s visits accordingly. It will also ensure that you won’t run out of your medication at the most inopportune time. You can use our medication refill tool, or simply contact us in your preferred method, and we will be happy to assist you.

4. Use your pharmacist as a resource.
We can make things simple by telling you how to store your medications, what they do, why you’re taking them, and what side effects you are to watch out for. Remember, we are a part of your health care team. We can help determine if you need changes to your current therapy and work with your doctor to minimize side effects, and maximize on your health outcomes.
